A huge lava ball chases a small ninja cat across a field of glowing food — the core io-game moment: the big one eats the small one — Crybble Wars

What are io games

Genreio games

An io game is an online game that opens right away, with no install and no long sign-up. You are on a shared map with live players: you start small, grow, eat whoever is smaller and run from whoever is bigger. Get eaten, and you start over.

📜 Where the genre came from

It all began with agar.io. Brazilian developer Matheus Valadares released it in April 2015. You are a cell in a Petri dish: you eat dots and cells smaller than you. The game spread through YouTube videos and became one of the most popular games of 2015.

Others followed. In 2016 Steven Howse released slither.io: snakes that die if they hit another snake head-first. That same summer Valadares made diep.io: tanks with levels and upgrades.

The .io suffix is a domain zone that startups love. The first hits lived at such addresses, and the name stuck to the whole genre. Today a game with these rules is called an io game even if its address is different.

🧩 How to spot an io game

  • It starts in seconds, right in the browser or a messenger.
  • One map for many players, the fight happens in real time.
  • The rules are clear at first glance: move, grow, don’t get caught by someone stronger.
  • You play with one finger or a mouse.
  • Die, and you start from zero.
  • A leaderboard sits in the corner of the screen.

🎯 Why it hooks you

A match lasts a few minutes, and anyone can end up on top. But the bigger you are, the slower and more visible you get: the leader is always under attack. So matches rarely repeat, and you always want “one more”.

🫧 Where Crybble Wars fits

Crybble Wars is an io game in Telegram and in the browser. The base is the same: bubbles grow by eating food, the big eats the small, a bubble splits and shoots mass. The main difference is money:

  • Entry is free or 1, 30, 100 CBW. In a paid match the money sits in your bubble. Get eaten, and it drops on the map as chests for others to pick up.
  • Free and paid players share one map but are transparent to each other.
  • If a player with a cheaper entry eats you, 6 seconds later you are back with your money. You get three such lives per match.
  • You can take the money out only through the house, with a 10-second countdown. After your first chest, others see you on the minimap.
  • Blub, a boss with a bank of CBW inside, comes out onto the shared map.
