Games like Paper.io 2: territory io games
Updated 2026-10-28
The games most like Paper.io 2 are other territory games: the first Paper.io, Splix.io, Hexanaut.io and TileMan.io. The rule is the same in each: draw a line out of your zone, loop back to claim the area, and if someone cuts your line, you lose. OpenFront.io takes the same idea to the scale of a world map.
Paper.io 2 was released by the studio Voodoo in 2018; per Wikipedia, it has been downloaded 266 million times. The first Paper.io came out in 2016. Both are on phones, and Paper.io 2 also runs in the browser.
Which games are like Paper.io 2?
| game | what you do | what is different | where to play |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper.io | claim areas of the field | the first game of the series, 2016, by the same studio, Voodoo | phones |
| Splix.io | expand your own land | leave your land and come back, and what you looped becomes yours. Anyone can kill you, even on your own land, while you are paused | browser |
| Hexanaut.io | conquer the largest area you can | don’t cross your own line or let another player cut it. Captured totems give bonuses. By Exodragon Games | browser, CrazyGames app |
| TileMan.io | claim tiles on a grid | tiles become yours when you close a loop; crossing your own or another player’s trail ends your run. Pausing helps trap rivals | browser, CrazyGames app |
| OpenFront.io | run a country on a world map | a strategy game: hundreds of players claim land, make alliances and launch nuclear strikes. On Steam since September 2026 | browser, Steam |
| Agar.io | a cell | not territory but growth: you eat dots and smaller cells on a shared map | browser, iOS, Android |
What do territory io games have in common?
- You start with a small area.
- To expand, you leave your land and draw a line.
- Close the line on your own land and what you looped becomes yours.
- While you are outside, you are vulnerable: if someone cuts your line, you lose.
If you want to grow rather than paint
Crybble Wars has no territory. It is an io game for the web and Telegram where you grow as a bubble: you eat food and anyone smaller on a shared map with real players. To eat another bubble you must be at least 10% heavier and cover more than half of it. What it shares with Paper.io is one arena and getting into a match in seconds, with nothing to download.
The difference is money. The entry is free or 1, 30, 100 CBW, and a paid entry sits in your bubble. If you are eaten, it drops onto the map as a chest; if you leave through the house button, it goes to your balance. Games like Agar.io: “Games like Agario”.
Which territory games put you against other players?
The Splix.io, Hexanaut.io and TileMan.io pages say it outright: other players can kill you or cut your line. OpenFront.io puts hundreds of players on one map.
Can you play Paper.io 2 on a phone?
Yes: Paper.io 2 is on iOS and Android and also runs in the browser. Splix.io, Hexanaut.io, TileMan.io and OpenFront.io run in the browser, and Hexanaut.io and TileMan.io are also in the CrazyGames app.
Is there a territory io game on Telegram?
We have not checked one. Crybble Wars opens in Telegram through the bot @crybblegame_bot, but in it you do not paint land: you grow and eat anyone smaller.
